Stephenville Garage Sale Permit

§ 110.01 REGULATIONS FOR SALE OF MERCHANDISE IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS.

(A) Continuous sales prohibited. Continuous sales of used or new merchandise in residential districts within the city is prohibited.

(B) Definition. CONTINUOUS SALES. Sales conducted by the owner or occupant of property in the apartment or residential districts in the city, where the public is invited by signs, advertising or in any other manner to come for the purpose of purchasing goods, wares and merchandise more than twice in any calendar year and not to be held within six months of each other.

(C) Permit. The owner or occupant of property within the districts herein above mentioned may obtain a permit to conduct a bona fide occasional sale of surplus odds and ends owned and controlled by the occupant by applying for such permit three days before the sale and paying a permit fee as set by ordinance or resolution from time to time and conditioned that the sales tax due and owing the state will be remitted as required by law, and that all laws and regulations will be complied with, and that the sale will not last more than three consecutive days, and that no merchandise other than surplus property owned by the permittee for more than 12 months will be sold. The purchase of new or used merchandise for the purpose of offering for sale at such residential location is expressly prohibited.(`75 Code, § 11-11) Penalty, see § 10.99

§ 130.65 POSTING HANDBILLS, POSTERS WITHOUT CONSENT.

It shall be unlawful for any person to stick, paint or stamp upon any house, fence, wall, pavement or other object not his/her own, within the corporate limits, any written, printed or other notice, bill, sign, circular, poster or advertisement without first having obtained permission from the owner. Garage Sale Permits may be purchased from City Hall Monday-Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and at the Stephenville Police Department after 5:00 P.M. and on weekends.

22.10. Leaving a child in a vehicle.

(a) A person commits an offense if he intentionally or knowingly leaves a child in a motor vehicle for longer than five minutes, knowing that the child is:

(1) younger than seven years of age; and

(2) not attended by an individual in the vehicle who is 14 years of age or older.

(b) An offense under this section is a Class C misdemeanor.
